The biggest update in 20 years in Wi-Fi
If you are tired of the speed of your home Wi-Fi internet,
then the good news is that the biggest change in this wireless communication is
coming after 20 years.
Wi-Fi bands were introduced in 1989 and since then its
spectrum or frequency band has quadrupled, but it still doesn't seem to be
enough.
That's why this week the US Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) approved Wi-Fi 6E, which will open with a 6 GHz frequency band
and release a 1200 MHz frequency band.
Simply put, this new Wi-Fi protocol will be two and a half
times faster than the current Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi 6 was approved in September last year and is now being
further improved, which is a newer version of the same Wi-Fi you have been
using for years, but it is a faster and more efficient version, such as mobile
internet. From 3G to 4G and now the 5G era is beginning, Wi-Fi technology has
gradually improved over the years.
Since 4K movies are streamed nowadays and even entire video
games are played on the internet, the improvement in Wi-Fi is not surprising.
By the way, this new technology will be available by the end
of this year, because right now there are not many devices that support Wi-Fi
Six.
But the difference between the two is that the routers used
for Wi-Fi 6 use bands ranging from 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz, while 6 e-routers start at
6 GHz, making Wi-Fi devices faster and Clear connection will be found,
But that means you'll also need devices that can work with 6
GHz bands, and support is likely to be extended to computers and other devices
in the last quarter of this year.
Importantly, Wi-Fi 6E will provide users with much, much
faster Internet access, and it is possible that the average download speed in
this new version will be hundreds of times faster than the current Wi-Fi.This means that HD movies can be downloaded in a few seconds
or minutes, while Wi-Fi 6E will perform even better in crowded places, where
multiple devices are connected to a network.
At the moment most home networks do not support such speeds,
ie if you buy a device with Wi-Fi 6x but the home internet package only works
at 200 Mbps, it will be something like a 5G phone. Will be used on 4G networks,
ie it will work and there will be no disappointment, but it will not be much
different from the past experience.
In fact, the full spread of Wi-Fi 6E will take some time
because it requires infrastructure, but it is certain that the world of the
Internet is moving fast.
